Äntligen får vi se bilen på riktigt!

Bilderna (som väldigt många har delat till mig som om jag inte skulle känna till bilen redan) har bara varit allt för ”digitala” och inte det minsta lilla äkta.

Så jag har inte ens velat nämna bilen förrän jag ser att den finns på mer än skapade digitala bilder.

** Jag hoppas på att det blir en sugmotor, men det sägs ju bli en 6a med DubbelTurbo, och då kommer absolut inte 450 hk räcka.
Då är det ju en 53 AMG motor rakt av.
Inget fel alls med den motorn, men jag tror verkligen inte att de kommer att nöja sig med den effekten.

Ja jag har skrivit kanske oväntat lite om vad jag tycker om denna bil..
Jag är inte lyrisk, som jag kanske borde vara..

Jag tycker att det främst är synd att de väljer en helt vanlig motor som inte ens låter gott.
Och det är inget som säger att den kommer att ha den legendariska växellådan med 1an neråt, eller en modern version av den då såklart.

Så OM denna bilen inte har en manuell växellåda och allra helst då en ”Dogleg” växellåda där 1an sitter nere istället för upp till vänster, då blir jag verkligen besviken.

The new $750,000 HWA EVO is an overpriced collector’s item that will collect dust. It is not a race car, and is extremely disappointing.
They’ll sell all 100 and generate over $75M.
For context, the Mercedes EVO II DTM race car is a celebrated champion of 1990s era racing. ~500 units were made in production to meet homologation standards for the racing bracket. The vehicle changed our understanding of suspension, power / weight ratios and it the aerodynamics which were designed by a University of Stuttgart professor (Richard Eppler), were revolutionary.
The aero alone was so controversial, The chief of R&D at BMW joked that ”the laws of aerodynamics must be different between Munich and Stuttgart… if that rear wing works, we’ll have to redesign our wind tunnel.”
Mercedes took home several championship trophies with the risky bet of the EVO II… BMW soon after this redesigned their wind tunnel.
We love the EVO II because of the audacity, the sheer recklessness of the idea, the willingness to push the limits further and further until victory.
On the other hand, this new vehicle is not controversial in any way, it pushes no boundaries. It is too expensive to be a track car, too limited to be a contender in championships, it doesn’t seem differentiated enough to win any, even if it did. Ultimately, this new program, feels like the safest way to make a quick buck.
A standard production Mercedes TT V6, a cool transaxle that is not likely a homage dogleg, HWA custom ECU, carbon fiber panels placed over an OEM 190e steel chassis, double wishbone suspension, and a few other basic improvements. They’re looking to be at about 400-450hp at ~2,950lbs
No center lock wheels, no carbon monocoque chassis, no pushed boundaries in suspension or brakes, no word on the interior…
You could build a part for part equivalent of this car for $75K.
And you could build a substantially more capable track car for $30K…”
