Hugo “Juice” Covarrubias Molina was born with a rare disorder that causes one side of his body to grow larger than the other. He used to feel self-conscious about it, but Hugo has learned to embrace his uniqueness and designed a shoe that encourages others to do the same.
The green and blue colors perfectly match the jersey of Hugo’s beloved football team, the Seattle Seahawks. Hugo’s passion for gold chains has led to the creation of a unique gold-plated hangtag, which can also be worn as a pendant on a necklace. The inner tongue of the shoe features woven patches, with one side listing his heroes, his mom and dad, while the other intentionally remains blank, allowing the wearer to fill in their own heroes.
Hugo’s personal handwritten motto, “It’s OK to be different,” is visible through the green, transparent outsole. Additionally, the transparent heel tab unveils Hugo’s logo, with the Jumpman positioned above his nickname, “Juice.” To showcase Hugo’s distinctive sense of style, a striking green drip pattern is prominently featured, accented by green patent leather on the tongue and quarter overlay. Furthermore, the shoe’s laces incorporate glow-in-the-dark flecks, adding an extra touch of uniqueness.
