Oftast när en artist dör.. Så är det just mamman som blir så jävla pengarkåt.
Ja eller frun.. Där är hur många exempel som helst där en rappare har dött.. Och sen kommer deras namn för evigt minnas som nån sellout pga vad deras mamma gjort med hans ”varumärke” efter han gick bort.
Och ibland.. . Och oftare på senare tid… Så tycker jag att Ma Dukes.. J Dillas mamma.. Är på gränsen där.
Nu så läste jag att hon ska sälja ut J Dillas skivsamling..
Först trodde jag att det var nån av dom många beat-tapes som verkar finnas lite överallt i landet och som ingen brytt sej om sen han dog..
Och då.. Ansåg jag att det var FÖR JÄVLIGT att dela upp hans samling så bland olika människor som dom flesta inte kommer att dela med sej av ett skit.
Men nu så läste jag det hela.
Now with the verification from Ma Dukes, a limited amount of J Dilla’s personal record collection is being offered for sale with a signed and numbered certificate from Ma Dukes!
These records come from the storage unit that Dilla and Ma Dukes moved his records and personal recordings in after his Detroit basement flooded. Then shortly thereafter he moved to Los Angeles. The storage unit was left by Dilla and taken care of by Ma Dukes but lost once Dilla fell ill and priorities changed. After 5 years it was recently found again. The back payments and fees were paid and Ma Dukes was reunited with the contents she last saw just before leaving to L.A. to take care of Dilla. A planned 2 week trip that turned into years.
All the J Dilla (Slum Village…etc.) test pressings, personal recordings, personal items, tapes, along with a large portion of the record collection are being held by Ma Dukes for inclusion in a possible future Hip Hop museum and upcoming record release projects.
What you will receive:
1) A signed and numbered certificate from Maureen Yancey (Ma Dukes) stating the LP record you will receive is from J Dilla’s personal collection.
2) An LP originally bought by Dilla (on one of his many crate diggin’ expeditions) still in the loose bag Dilla put all his records in. None of the records have been cleaned or checked for defects. You will receive it just as it was in Dillas collection, possible writing on covers, old price tags, fingerprints and all.
The certificates are numbered with the plan of an online registry for Dilla fans to list their Dilla Collection LP. Including the artist, title, and whether any tracks on the LP are known to have been sampled by Dilla. This registry is dependent on the sales of the limited amount of the collection and response from the fans. Visit the J Dilla foundation web site for future updates.

Ok.. Så det är alltså LP skivorna som han hade i sin egna samling.. Och gjorde beats utav.. Som ska auktioneras ut.

Men den där Dilla Foundation.. Jag hoppas verkligen att pengarna inte bara går till hans mamma utan till dom som nu har samma sjukdom som Jay Dee led av.
